I stumbled across the amazing work of Melissa Rufty from MMR Interiors. This New Orleans based firm creates outstanding spaces the mix both vintage and modern pieces. She makes great use of bright color and I particularly love how she incorporates a little bit of animal print into nearly all her interiors. Ruffles are one of my favorite accessories. I stumbled across this adorable pair of Ruffled Boots from Anthropologie but with a price of $258 they would require some saving for. While searching for alternatives I also found this suede pair from DSW on sale for $79.95. Both of these will look adorable with jeans for Fall so I'm a bit undecided. Would you go with the steal or the real deal!?

In honor of my dad's birthday today I am sharing with you a super amazing new site I discovered. After eating my weight in Dairy Queen ice cream cake tonight, this is probably the last thing I need but Layer Cake Shop is just so delicious looking. I have a horrible weakness for sweets! They sell all sorts of cool sprinkles, cute cupcake holders, and other baking/packaging nick-nacks. Not only are they cute, but totally affordable! I will certainly be placing an order for some of these soon!

New Season=New Wardrobe

Happy labor day!

Since I am swamped with school work today and totally want to be out shopping for some new fall outfits...I've resulted to online shopping for now.

I used to spend hours and hours looking at things on ebay because it was just so interesting to me how everything you could possibly imagine was on this one site. Although I've never really bought anything from there (except a gumball machine phone, and yes I am serious) I have found some super cute clothes for fall listed. belleboutique100 is where I found these totally stylish dresses!! I do realize that today is labor day and technically you shouldn't be purchasing and wearing white after today but as my design teacher always says, "you have to learn the rules then break the rules." Plus its still well over 100 degrees here in the desert so I think white is still completely appropriate.

Now don't you all go bidding on these items :)!!! I hate how the price always shoots up so high at the end of the auction. Wish me luck in my purchasing endeavors!

Times are A' Changin'...

It's hard to believe that summer is coming to an end. Boy was summer full of changes for me. My apologies for the lack of posts over the past 2 months. I'm back for good this time! Look daily for new posts b/c they will be coming! It's crazy how much I missed blogging and how randomly things would happen and I would be like "I need to blog about this."

Two months ago I was preparing to return to the south to begin my junior year at Auburn University. A few weeks before school started I began feeling confused about where I was headed with school and my future. Back to the present...I have now officially completed my second week of school as a Sun Devil!

I'm thrilled to be close to my family, HS friends, and the BF again! Although I certainly wouldn't have changed anything about the past two years living away from home. So far I can say that I am truly happy with this crazy, last-minute decision I made to transfer back home. Auburn was an amazing experience where I learned so much about who I am and learned how to be independent. And I will always be an Auburn Tiger fan. Sometimes we all need a little change to mix up our mundane lives a bit!

A Little Piece of Heaven

Here's a sneak peek at some of my pictures from my vacation to the wonderful Outer Banks of North Carolina. This was my 19th summer vacation here and I'll tell you what...it gets better every single year. This year was particularly special, as it was my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. They were completely surprised when we had a priest show up at the house so they could renew their wedding vows. It was such a touching moment to see them holding hands and repeating their original vows. There were very few dry eyes in the room. Then we celebrated with a huge cake and party at a delicious local restaurant.

Spending time with three of my closest cousins was another part of vacation that I always treasure. My cousin Emma who is from LA/Colorado is adorable. I can't believe she is 17 now. Unfortunately I don't get to see her as much as I would like but she is such a gorgeous, sweet girl. I can't wait to do a posting on her great LA fashion sense. My two younger cousins are also so fun! They love trying on all of my make-up, shoes, and clothes. They are as adorable as can be and I love them to pieces.

I totally enjoyed all the fun I had with the BF at the beach as well. Since we live so far apart for half of the year when I am away at school, I really treasure every little bit of time we get to spend together. The BF and I had fun successfully learning how to ride waves, going for bike rides, and just being together. He's so great.

The beach was a blast! After all, isn't this the main reason we go to the Outer Banks!? We couldn't have been luckier with the weather...it rained once and it was in the middle of the night. Everyday was sunny and warm, perfect waves, the ideal beach weather. The last picture I posted is such a funny picture of my three brothers enjoying the waves.

I miss the beach already. It's hard coming back to reality, especially when you've just spent 12 days in your favorite place in the entire world. I'm missing my camera cord to upload the rest of the vacation pics, but I'll try and get them up tomorrow!

Back to Reality!

I've returned from my wonderful vacation. Sorry for the lack of posts, it was difficult finding an internet connection. I am picking up with my 21 day promise of posting daily from where I left off. I'm off to work this morning look forward to a great post about my vacation tonight. I took lots of pictures :) Hope everyone had a great 4th of July! Where has this summer gone!?
