Utterly Inspiring..

I am often blown away by the ways people express their creativity. Above are two amazing displays of artistic skill and finese. If you take a closer look at the works of Guido Daniele and James Kuhn you'll notice all of these paintings are actually on the human body. It's amazing how Daniele forms his hands and arms into appearing like and animal and I certainly cannot get over the ways that Kuhn blends his facial features into the object he is portraying. I love how he uses his own eyes for the eyes on some of the face painting!! Be sure to check out their sites for other amazing works. Which one is your favorite?

10 Interesting Finds @ Forever 21

I love buying trendy things at Forever 21 since they are such a deal! I can spend hours and hours in the store wandering around like I did last night. It's such a great store that has literally everything under the sun...both cute and not so cute. Here are a few debatable pieces I found. Would you wear any of the above pieces?

I'm a Barbie Girl..In a Barbie World

One obsession that remains from my childhood is the elegance and beauty of Barbies. Maybe it's their never ending supply of fashionable clothes or maybe its the pink splashes in everything related to Barbie..whatever it is, Barbies are the epitome of girly-ness across the world. Robert Best, from Project Runway season 3, has created this fabulous collection of Barbie sketches. They are truly pieces of art. Here are a few of my favs! check out more of these on mawphoto.com

If I had $600,000....

"The most colorful and whimsical small beach getaway you will find anywhere ... totally designed and "staged" by Betsey Johnson as only she could do it. A setting of tropical gardens with one lap pool and one large pool, 4 kingsize bungalow suites w/bath, 1 al fresco suite with double bed under palapa roof w/bath, 2 lounge areas, 1 dining area, 1 kitchenette and 1 full kitchen, laundry room, and caretaker's quarters."
Are you drooling yet? I sure am! How amazing would it be to live in the vibrant and colorful Mexican villa designed by the fabulous Betsey Johnson!? Paradise Properties in Zihuatanejo, Mexico has this beauty listed for sale. Look at all these gorgeous pics they have posted of the place! It's so cheerful and tropical. Maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket...

Sleek & Sexy

The BF has been going through the longest possible process to buy his first house and I am very anxious for him to hopefully close on an awesome one here pretty soon. His future master suite has become the inspiration behind this bedroom I put together on polyvore. I found this amazing silver room from French Interior Design FirmTeoJasmin. I completely fell in love with the layering of the different tones of grey and silver. It's totally sleek and sexy. Going along the same lines I tried to mix in the same broad range of silver tones along with bold blacks to create a more masculine room (sorry bf I tried incorporate the weird owl picture you love but it just wouldn't work!) I sure do adore the matte black and shiny silver combination!!! BF...what's your opinion?

Staycataion

What a relaxing weekend! After a few stressful weeks of tests, projects, and papers, the BF and I took some much needed time to relax nearby. We spent Saturday at the fabulous Mondrian Hotel in Scottsdale, AZ. The rooms were totally decked out in modern black and white decor..they even had a knock-off ghost chair in them which is one of my all time favorite pieces of furniture! Boy did that make me happy! The lobby was also totally modern and hip. Once again..just my style. Check out the pics I found of the hotel via Flickr and a couple I snapped myself. If you're in the Scottsdale area, this place is worth checking out but be warned..the party atmosphere of the hotel makes for a loud night if you are trying to get some rest.

Sunday was another fun-filled day spent at University of Phoenix Stadium watching the Cardinals play the Texans. Although it was no Auburn football game it was still a fun atmosphere and the Cardinals actually won. yay!!

MMR Interiors

I stumbled across the amazing work of Melissa Rufty from MMR Interiors. This New Orleans based firm creates outstanding spaces the mix both vintage and modern pieces. She makes great use of bright color and I particularly love how she incorporates a little bit of animal print into nearly all her interiors. These are some of my favorite projects that she has worked on all found via her site. Check out the MMR Interiors for more beautiful spaces.

Steal vs Real Deal

Ruffles are one of my favorite accessories. I stumbled across this adorable pair of Ruffled Boots from Anthropologie but with a price of $258 they would require some saving for. While searching for alternatives I also found this suede pair from DSW on sale for $79.95. Both of these will look adorable with jeans for Fall so I'm a bit undecided. Would you go with the steal or the real deal!?
