Chandeliers!

Continuing with yesterdays post on my desire to start a chandelier collection of my own, I've collected some of the most unique chandeliers from this awesome website called Chandeliera. They sell every Chandelier and fancy lighting fixture imaginable! It's a really fun website to look at if you're into design. They even have an inspiration photo gallery.

Anyways..If you could pick one of these Chandeliers which would you choose? Where would you put it?

I love reading people's opinions so make sure to leave a comment!!

I'm off to my much awaited vacation tomorrow...stay tuned for pics!

Zebras & Glitter & Chandeliers...Oh My!

If you haven't caught onto this by now...I have a lot of loves & obsessions. Particularly when it comes to design and style. One of my all time favorite blogs, Desire to Inspire, feature the most amazing apartment. That's where these pictures came from. Every aspect of it just screams my name! Zebra print, chandeliers, hot pink, glitter, mirrors etc. etc. Let's just say I'm in love with it all. I'm especially impressed that the owner of this Brooklyn loft has 12 chandeliers hanging up around this place. This has totally reiterated my plans of starting a chandelier collection. My other favorite parts are the 2 black Kartell Ghost Chairs, the chalkboard wall, the hot pink kitchen with the Lucite stools, and the curved white leather couch. Gorgeous!!!

What's your favorite part of this awesome loft?

Prepare to Drool

Okay, Okay I know this is totally cheesy but I truly enjoy grocery shopping. Tonight when I walked out the door to head to one of my all time favorite grocery stores the sky was just gorgeous so I knew I was in for some good shopping. Sprouts Farmers Market is amazing! They sell tons of organic foods, specialty meats, fresh fruits and veggies, and my favorite...the aisles of "scoop your own" trail mix! Their trail mixes are to die for! My favorite is the Carmel Delight full of chocolate chips, dried cranberries, almonds, and delicious little chewy caramel balls. The S'mores mix is also fabulous! And how could I possibly forget the tasty cherry yogurt covered pretzels.

The Queen of List Making

I love making lists. To-Do lists, packing lists, shopping lists, wish lists, grocery lists, you name it...I'm obsessed. My purse if full of lists that I've made over the past couple of weeks. I usually end up starting a list at a completely random moment and place. Therefore I've decided a little notebook would be nice to keep in my purse to organize my crazy list making. I've rounded up some of my favorites. Which one would you go for?

1.Green on White Damask
2.Pink Moleskine
3.Thoreau Quote Journal
4.Blue Floral Damask

Battle of the Shower Curtains

This fall will be the first time in 2 years that I won't be living in a dorm room. I couldn't be more excited. Prepare yourself to hear many future posts on my room decorating! It is time to start buying things for my room and I love the look of these ruffled shower curtains. What a joy it is going to be to have my own private bathroom. No more wearing flip flops just to take a shower or setting the fire alarm off in the entire building because your shower was too long and steamy. Anyways which ruffled curtain is your fav?

A.India Rose- $110
B.India Rose- $95
C.RianRae- $96
D.Anthropologie- $118

The Guy as in Christopher Guy

Along the lines of yesterday's funky furniture post I have discovered a new front runner for my favorite furniture designer. Meet Christopher Guy. I actually stumbled across his cool stuff when I was organizing my designer's business card collection at my internship today. His super cool business cards shaped like an envelope immediately lead me to check out his web page. Boy oh boy was I impressed! Guy totally takes old historical pieces of furniture and revamps them into a modern functional design. Above are some of my favorite pieces I came across (and his super cool business cards!).

P.s. I have successfully posted 11 days in a row! Aren't you proud of me for keeping up with my 21 day plan. I hope people are reading my blog! I'm really enjoying sharing my life and little things I come to love everyday. Any readers out there... leave me some love in the form of comments please!

The Beginning of the Birthday Wish List..

Although my birthday is nearly three months away I have found the first item for my birthday wish list. Happy Tape is colorful masking tape made of Japanese washi paper. I stumbled across this tape and cannot wait to order some! The colors are so fun and the patterns are super funky. Just imagine all the potential this tape has to spice up your every day life. You can buy this tape here which is also where I found these great pictures of it from. Be sure to check out their blog for some great ideas on uses!

Dave Chihuly-The King of Glass

Dave Chihuly is one of the most unique and creative designer's I've ever seen. His colorful glass sculptures are so phenomenal. Over Spring Break this past March, I was lucky enough to get to check out his latest exhibit at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Arizona. The way he placed the glass sculptures into the Cactus Gardens so they nearly blended in form was so neat. Above are some of the photo's I took on my visit. I especially loved the curly yellow ball of glass!

Sushi and Swimming

Happy Saturday! I spent my entire afternoon relaxing by the pool/taking a nap on the hammock. Yay for great weather! I forgot to mention yesterday that I purchased another little treat at Cost Plus World Market... (besides some yummy Pocky) I got sushi making materials! After a day outside, the bf and I made sushi for the first time ever. We stuck with California Rolls since they seemed like the best choice for beginners. I'll have to admit they came out tasting very delicious! My brothers certainly helped devour them. Below are some pics of the sushi making process.

1)Steaming short grained rice with 2 tbsp of vinegar, 2 tbsp sugar, 2 tsp salt, and water.
2)Chopped up avocado, cucumber, and imitation crab meat.
3)Making my first sushi roll.
4)First sushi roll complete.
5)All set for dinner!

If anyone is interested in more specific directions on how to make sushi just send me a note and I'd be happy to explain what worked well for us!

Have a great Sunday!
