Wheat Grass!

To bring a little color into the kitchen area, BF and I decided to plant some greens. After a little investigation we thought wheat grass would be the perfect planter filler. Not only is it super easy to grow, but it sprouts extremly fast.

We bought our wheat grass seeds off e-bay from a seller in Wisconsin. Two pounds was only $10 shipped! And let me tell you...two pounds is PLENTY! We planted six pots of wheat grass and it we probably used about 25% of the seeds.

Here's a quick run down on planting them wheat grass.

  • Soak the seeds in water overnight.
  • Place some rocks in the bottom of the planter for water drainage
  • Fill the pot about 3/4ths of the way up with organic soil
  • Sprinkle the seeds all over the top of the soil
  • Add a thin layer of soil to cover the seeds
  • Water the seeds
  • Watch the magic happen!
In less than a week, you will have some beautiful tasty wheat grass! If anyone has any ideas of what to do with wheat grass, let me know!
